£1.92 for a litre of diesel.
At fucking Tescos, thought they would have been cheapest!

What happened to 5p we were promised?

What are the prices like round your neck of the woods?

Is it illegal to not pay for fuel?
'Pump and Run' Crimes: Non-payment of fuel no longer treated as a criminal offence. One surprising outcome of limited police resources is that officers will no longer treat non-payment of fuel at forecourts as a crime.

I never knew this either !

£99 pay at pump fee: New charges at Tesco, Asda, Morrisons ...https://www.nationalworld.com › Lifestyle › Cars
16 Feb 2022 — Once you've filled up, the actual cost of your fuel is deducted from your account and the balance of the pre-authorisation charge is released.

Re: £1.92 for a litre of diesel.
I was robbed this morning at a petrol station in Chorley .
I managed to pull myself together even though my hands were still shaking. I felt dizzy and I honestly think I was probably in shock.
My money was gone. I called the police who were quick on the scene and fantastic, they quickly called for an ambulance because my blood pressure and heart rate were so high.
The police asked me if I knew who did it and I said yes it was pump number 4.

In covid they wanted plebs to stay at home so they could party. Now many have to stay at home as they cant afford to travel much.

There’s a plan here

Folk should just fill up and drive off without paying.

Folk should start robbing banks and nicking stuff from supermarkets.

The authorities are taking the piss and laughing at the general public.

The only benefit I think of lockdown in 2020 was to fill the car it cost about £30. Obviously you couldn't actually go anywhere but it was cheap! Now £30 won't even get you half a tank!

Re: £1.92 for a litre of diesel.
Supermarkets seem to be cheaper for some reason.

Went past a station on a main road earlier where it was 185ish for petrol and 190+ diesel, but 5 min up the road in Asda was about 170 & 178ish respectively.

We'll hit £2+ petrol within a week, won't we?

Re: £1.92 for a litre of diesel.
$4.65USD/gallon across the line the other day.
so about 1.25/l 4
and about 1.40/l for diesel

188.9 CDN$/l for regular unleaded
The Costco on the reservartion in Calgary 175.9
Diesel is was about the same last time I checked.

That is with a 14c tax dropped by the provincial government.

US petrol is about 1.30 to 1.40 USD per litre (iirc) and about 0.70 in Russia.

I did 8 years of voluntary driving but I really can't see drivers or the Hospice's/Hospitals being able to afford this service with these prices of fuel let alone not knowing if the price will level out.

The world is 1 messed up place right now. Diesel and Petrol prices keep rising, meaning there will be a knock-on effect on the supermarkets delivering the food so food prices will keep going up.

Buying an electric car isn't the way forward with electric prices rising constantly as well.

Could our grid network even cope if everyone has electric cars and 10% of the UK population charged their cars at the same time?

Time to revert back to horse and cart lol

Re: You will own nothing and be happy
Take away the tax and the price is reasonable.

Take away the tax and the driver wouldn’t notice the price rise because….the price wouldn’t have risen.

Take the tax away and the price is reasonable.

A 33%+, non tax rise in the price of fuel, in a year, is reasonable?

Westside 10:55 Thu Jun 9
Re: You will own nothing and be happy
So Westside I don't know where you get 8p increase on 50p !!!

Quite simple really.

Duty rates haven't increased. Pump price up 50p a litre in a year. That's 42p ex VAT. 20% VAT on 42p is 8p (rounded).

Can you cope with that maths?

Hermit Road 9:08 Thu Jun 9
Re: You will own nothing and be happy
46% of the price is tax.

So I’ll stand by what I said. The huge price is down to tax. Take the tax away and the price is reasonable.

ted fenton 9:01 Thu Jun 9
Re: You will own nothing and be happy
Fuel Duty rates
The rate you pay depends on the type of fuel.

Type of fuel Rate
Petrol, diesel, biodiesel and bioethanol 52.95 pence per litre
Then you have 20% VAT

So Westside I don't know where you get 8p increase on 50p !!!
